Our Story

Know Your Farmer. Trust Your Food.

Welcome to Mac Glaisín Farms.

We're Michael and Tammy Green, and together with our children, we're building something we believe is becoming increasingly rare—a family farm dedicated to raising food the right way.

Nestled in the Arkansas River Valley, our farm isn't just where we work. It's where we live, where we raise our children, and where we practice the values we hope to pass on to the next generation.

Every sunrise begins with animals that depend on us. Every evening ends knowing we've cared for the land a little better than we found it.

That's the life we chose.

And we wouldn't trade it for anything.

Welcome to Mac Glaisín Farms — where heritage, stewardship, and flavor meet.

Why the Name "Mac Glaisín"?

One of the questions we hear most often is:

"How do you pronounce the name of your farm?"

Mac Glaisín Farms is pronounced:

Mac"son of"

Glaisín"Glâsson"

So, in our family, we simply say it means:

"Son of Green."

Our family name, Green, has deep roots in the British Isles. Throughout history, many surnames were tied to a person's occupation or role in the community. Just as a Cooper's made barrels or a Smith's worked metal, our family has long embraced the tradition that the Green name was associated with those entrusted to care for and watch over the green places—whether the village commons, open fields, or the forests.

Whether serving as caretakers of the village green or stewards of the countryside, the common thread was responsibility: protecting the land so it could continue to provide for the community.

That idea resonates deeply with us.

Today, our role is much the same.

We care for our pastures, steward our soil, raise healthy animals, and work to leave this land better than we found it. Every fence we build, every pasture we rotate, and every animal we care for reflects that responsibility.

To us, Mac Glaisín Farms isn't simply a name.

It's a reminder that we are the next generation of caretakers.

The land is only borrowed from our children, and we're committed to passing it on healthier, more productive, and more beautiful than it was entrusted to us.

That's what "Son of Green" means to our family.

"Protect what has been entrusted to your care."

Why We Started

Welcome to Mac Glaisín Farms — where heritage, hard work, and honesty meet the land.

Like many families, we began asking questions about the food on our table.

Where did it come from?

How was it raised?

Could we do better?

The answer led us to start Mac Glaisín Farms.

We wanted to produce food we would proudly serve our own family—food raised with integrity, transparency, and respect for both the animals and the land.

Our mission has never been to become the biggest farm.

Our mission is to become the farm our customers know, trust, and recommend to the people they love.

From our pastures to your plate — thank you for supporting local agriculture and helping us keep real farming alive.

Mac Glaisín Farms
Heritage Raised. Honestly Made.

Working With Nature, Not Against It

Nature has been raising healthy animals for thousands of years.

Our job isn't to reinvent that process—it's to steward it.

We believe healthy animals thrive when they're allowed to express their natural behaviors.

Our pigs root, explore, and enjoy fresh air.

Our chickens are raised on pasture and moved regularly to fresh ground where they can scratch, peck, and forage.

Our cattle graze on pasture, harvesting grass, not grain, the way they were designed to.

Rather than forcing production year-round, we work with the seasons.

Calving follows nature's rhythms; when the fawns are dropping...so are our calves.

Our poultry production is planned around the growing season; broilers get sick when no access to grass (chlorophyll) and no way to detox.

Every decision we make is guided by one simple question:

Is this the best choice for the animals, the land, and the families who will enjoy this food?

More Than a Farm

Mac Glaisín Farms is truly a family effort.

Our children—our junior high entrepreneurs—are growing up with dirt on their boots and purpose in their work. Two earned money to buy horses so they can ride the rodeo...watch for their photos on our social media.

They gather eggs, move livestock, refill feeders, build chicken tractors, help maintain equipment, and learn firsthand that good things come through responsibility, perseverance, and teamwork.

We don't simply want to raise great food.

We want to raise capable young people.

Every purchase you make helps support both.

Food You Can Feel Good About
